There is a place
There’s place in Tenali, India where children from toddler to 18 years of age can go for refuge. When they’ve lost one parent, or both parents, or even when their families are unable to care for their daily needs. A place where they can have a roof over their heads and clean water to drink, a place where they’re clothed and given food to eat. A place to do homework and hangout each day. A place where they can grow in hope and say, what they desire to grow up and be one day. This place is Hope Home Orphanage.

My visit to this place In September 2018 I made my first mission trip to India and to this orphanage. After months of video calls, prayer, and preparation, I was there meeting them in person. It was like a family reunion, being greeted with a flood of love and joy coming from these children. What they lacked in some basic material possessions and needs, they had in abundance spiritually! They were full of love for one another, and God! I enjoyed time with them viewing their traditional Indian dance, providing meals for them, and playing games with them. They were really good at volleyball, one of their favorite games! We also got to talk about how things were going in school, and what they each wanted to grow up and be one day. Police officers, teachers, soldiers in the army, an engineer, a doctor and railway worker. Future national or even global leaders some day! People Giving Hope Their thriving spiritual and physical health comes at the love and sacrifice of Pastor Ravindra Babu, who has answered the call in taking these children in off the streets. Many of his own person life goals were put on hold while he created a place, a safety net, to catch these children and give them a chance at life! Pastor Ravindra was joined in this effort by his sister Jyothi, providing care for the children fulltime, cooking all their meals, washing and mending their clothes. Many times their own personal needs go lacking to ensure these children have enough to eat and have the supplies needed for school. Our call to hope Since 2018 Consider the Poor has joined in monthly support for these children. We’re committed to being the hands and feet of Jesus, extending His love and mercy to them through our gifts of support. Will you join us in giving hope to this beautiful family? We’re planning a return mission trip to India this year. You can join us by donating towards the trip or even becoming a monthly sponsor towards their food or school supplies. The scripture below highlights a conversation between the Lord and His sheep. I hope that we all have this conversation with the Lord one day! Blessings! Elder Stephen Neal |
Matthew 24:34-40
Then the King will say to those on his right hand, “Come, you blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you…For I was hungry and you gave Me food; I was thirsty and you gave Me drink; I was a stranger and you took Me in; I was naked and you clothed Me; I was sick and you visited Me; I was in prison and you came to Me.”
Then the righteous will answer Him, saying, “Lord, when did we see You hungry and feed You, or thirsty and give You drink? When did we see You a stranger and take You in, or naked and clothe You? Or when did we see You sick, or in prison, and come to You?”
And the King will answer and say to them, “Assuredly, I say to you, inasmuch as you did it to one of the least of these My brethren, you did it to Me.”
