There are many ways to support the fight against systemic racism. There are organizations that are fighting racism directly and need your support. Purchasing from Black owned businesses not only supports these businesses but their employees and their communities. And organizations fighting poverty, food insecurity, and homelessness are on the front lines of the fight, directly supporting the most vulnerable when they are most in need.

Founded in 1909, the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) has been on a mission to secure the political, educational, social, and economic equality of rights in order to eliminate race-based discrimination and ensure the health and well-being of all persons for over 100 years.

Organizations Fighting Food Insecurity
Focusing on the logistical challenges of retail food recovery, Food Rescue Hero addresses both problems through technology-coordinated, community-powered networks. Food Rescue Hero is based in Pittsburgh and now measurably impacts food insecurity in Cleveland, Philadelphia, San Francisco, Northern Virginia, and soon, Los Angeles. In support of the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals 2, 12 and 13, its goal is to scale food recovery in 100 cities by 2030.
Food Rescue US is committed to reducing food waste and food insecurity in America. Using technology, we engage volunteers to transfer excess fresh food from grocers, restaurants, and other sources, to social service agencies that feed people who are food insecure.
Wherever there’s a fight so hungry people may eat, World Central Kitchen promises to be there, as they have in Puerto Rico, on the United States - Mexico border, in the fight against Covid-19, and on the front lines of recent protests.
