Blankets for Bangladesh
The winter season is coming in Bangladesh, and in the hilly areas of Chittagong there are many poor people with little clothing to help them stay warm. For the last several years missionary Khokon Beapare has been travelling to Kumira and other surrounding villages passing out blankets to those in need.
The temperatures there are warmer with sunshine during the day, but at night temperatures drop to cold. For the poor their homes do not offer much shelter from the wind, or any heat at all during the colder night hours. This is where you can make a difference for someone in need! During the winter season, temperatures in Bangladesh are warm during the day, but at night temperature drops to cool and even cold levels.
For many of us when temperatures become colder at night, we can turn up our heat, put on warm clothes, or even get under a nice heated blanket or comforter. For those who are unable to do this in Bangladesh, Khokon and his team purchase blankets from a local market and takes them to the surrounding community. These blankets are $15 each and a welcome site for families facing the winter nights.
They are also purchasing basic supplies for the children living in these areas. Clothing, school supplies, soaps, toothbrushes and toothpaste. This year's fundraising goal is $2,000 USD. Consider making a one-time donation to support this project! Add special instructions "Blankets" to your online gift (securely through PayPal) or personal check note. Blessed is he who considers the poor! |
